Blues Fans are Singing the Blues
With the Blues and their farm team sitting in the bottom of the standings, a New Years Resolution to turn around the season got underway with the advent of a new General Manager, J. Brown. GM Brown decided to take the team in a new direction and began giving the younger players more ice time to give them opportunities to develop. Another glaring need that GM Brown sought a fix for includes gaining some offensive firepower up front. With some bold moves he picked up Patrick Sharpe, a responsible 2-way forward, Kyle Beach a hard-hitting checking centre and sharpshooter Andrei Kostitsyn. GM Brown stated "the management team and I have gone up and down our players and prospects in our organization and we believe the future looks bright. We are on the right path and with little tinkering here and there we believe we will have a team capable of contending." We asked Brown where he believes the strengths and weaknesses lie and he responded "there's no doubt the teams strength will be in the back end, players such as E. Johnson, A. Pietrangelo, and D. Rundbald will be counted on to anchor the Blues blueline." Brown continued on saying "where we would like to improve is to obtain a number one centreman and possibly in our goaltending. We do have faith in Jake Allen but he needs to show us he can be more consistent." The Blues will be very busy this off-season as they hold onto the 5th overall selection right now, but Brown has hinted that if an offer is made that would benefit the team the pick may be up for grabs.
