you could just do it like FHL or XHL, when you just base GM performances on a 0-3 scale. Not give out such high rewards.
What rewards were given out to players by the way?

Since we have an RFA offer on the board, I decided to look up the rules here: www.nhlscap.com/offer_sheets.htmAnd in there it mentions: and This would mean that, if we're following NHL rules, Calgary cannot put an offer sheet on Johan Ryno that would require a 2nd round pick as compensation, as he doesn't have it. However, he could up the offer and go with a 1st and a 3rd, as he has those. Having said that, if there was a Detroit GM, he'd match that offer in seconds, so it's a bit unfair to future Detroit GMs...

Then don't send him an offersheet. He can still develop into a 79-80 forward, which is definitely first-line material, his con might be a problem though, it's good but not great.
