RHL RULES
1. GENERAL
- Activity is important. GM’s should be sending in lines at least once a week, and checking the board as often as they can. We know everyone has lives, but activity is important for the league. This includes responding to PM’s from other GMs whenever you can.
- The league does 3 sims a week: Monday/Wednesday/Friday, with an occasional sim on Sunday. GMs will normally be notified of a Sunday sim in advance.
- NHL roster salaries are to be within the $40.8 Million floor - $60 Million cap. AHL rosters are not capped. If this is violated over an unreasonable amount of time, the league will adjust your roster at your expense.
- Any rules that are broken, will result in the team’s top player being suspended for a game unless otherwise noted. The suspension will continue if the situation isn’t fixed by the GM.
2. LINES
- Lines are to be saved in the EHM program’s “Lines” section. Confirm them, and save them as a .lns file. The same is done for your AHL lines. The both files are to be emailed to rhlehm@hotmail.com.
- Hit & Grind line tactic may only be used on your 3rd or 4th line, and for no longer than 50 second shifts. Only one of the 2 lines is allowed to use the tactic.
3. UNDERAGERS (Farm team)
- Teams who qualified for the playoffs the previous year are allowed TWO underagers (19 yrs or under), while non-playoff teams may have up to THREE. Underage players are to be selected before the start of the season in the underage player thread at that time.
4. GOALIE LIMITS
- Goalies have a 72 game maximum each season. It is your responsibility to keep track of this. If you exceed this limit, your backup will be used for the first round of playoffs. If you’re not a playoff team, your backup will be used for the first 5 games of the following season.
5. FREE AGENCY
- During Free Agency period in the offseason, contract offers to UFA players are to be sent by email to the league email rhlehm@hotmail.com. This lets all GMs have the same playing ground when offering contracts. All offers are inputted, and the game determines who receives the player. (Usually the best offer will win it.)
- UFA players signed in the offseason period cannot be traded until January of that season.
- RFA’s (Restricted Free Agents) will be listed, and offers will be placed in the public RFA forum. The best offer will win the specific player, but compensation is to be provided as follows, based on the contract you offer:
$660,000 or below: No Compensation
Over $666,000 to $1 Million: Third-round pick
Over $1 Million to $2 Million: Second-round pick
Over $2 Million to $3 Million: First-round and third-round
Over $3 Million to $4 Million: First-round, second-round, third-round
Over $4 Million to $5 Million: Two firsts, a second, and a third
Over $5 Million: Four first-round picks
6. RETIREMENT
- Players set to retire at the beginning of the season will be listed, and a randomizer with the following values will be set to determine if they will indeed retire at season’s end.
Players 35 years old -> 08% chance
Players 36 years old -> 19% chance
Players 37 years old -> 37% chance
Players 38 years old -> 52% chance
Players 39 years old -> 73% chance
Players 40 years old -> 87% chance
Players 41 years old -> 94% chance
Players 42 years old -> 98% chance
43 years plus -> 100% chance
7. CAPTAIN’S MEETINGS
- After sims be sure to check your team’s News section. If you have a POSITIVE Captain’s meeting with a player, they are eligible for a +1 Consistency boost. (Up to a maximum of 80 CON). You must post your Captain’s meetings in the Captain’s meetings forum in order to get the boost for that player. Negative meetings (Captain clashes etc.) are not eligible.
8. CON DROPS
- Consistency drops happen after a trade when a player is interviewed in the News section. To remedy this, be sure to post the interview in the Con Drop forum, with the original Con posted when the trade was made, and the player’s con will be fixed.
9. STAFF
- Teams will carry 2 head coaches, 4 assistant coaches, 1 GM and 4 physios. Of this staff, at least 1 head coach, 2 assistants, 2 physios and 1 GM will be on the farm.
Since not everybody uses their scouts, teams will have the possibility to have from 3 to 11 scouts.
