2009 - 2010 Nominees:
1. Jonathan Tavares, New York Islanders 82gp 26g 39a 65pts 66pim -16 The 2009 1st overall pick had a tremendous 1st season in the RHL with 65 points. Tavares was also named Islanders captain partway through the season, putting the cap on a great rookie campaign.
2. Konstantin Pushkarev, New York Islanders 79gp 26g 29a 55pts 54pim -6 Konstantin Pushkarev finally got is break when bluechip prospect Kyle Okposo went down for just over a month. He never looked back. Playing on a line with fellow nominee Jon Tavares, Pushkarev finally made this big leagues at age 25.
3. Viktor Stålberg, Toronto Maple Leafs 69gp 29g 37a 66pts 46pim 0 Viktor Stålberg had all the opportunity in the world. Playing on the struggling, but rebuilding Toronto Maple Leafs, Stålberg was a 1st liner and with that, led all rookie scorers in points and goals. He also led all Toronto players in scoring.
